We commit to reach, challenge, and prepare every student for success in school and life.
3rd GRADE READING
FCPS is committed to making sure all students obtain foundational reading skills by the end of third grade. Studies show that reading proficiency by the end of third grade can be a critical benchmark in projecting a child's educational development and future success.
FCPS aims to increase the diverse representation of students who access Algebra by the end of eighth grade. Earlier participation in Algebra allows students additional time to take higher level math courses.
FCPS is committed to providing programs and supports to make sure all students graduate on time and are college and career ready. Graduation is a celebration of a student's entire K-12 educational experience, representing success in both academic and social-emotional development.
FCPS aims to ensure all students have access to rigorous coursework that prepares them for college and career. The Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and Dual Enrollment (DE) programs are challenging academic opportunities designed to provide high school students with access to college-level academic courses and rigor.
